Hello! Welcome to my blog. My name is Rae, and I am an American woman who loves the English language. English is a beautiful, interesting, CRAZY language, isn’t it?
I know that learning another language can be frustrating. I lived for years in Japan, and experienced many struggles while learning the Japanese language. I also saw the struggles that my Japanese friends experienced while learning English. I learned that the most important part of language learning is practice. USE what you are learning. Use it a lot!
This blog can help you use your English. Here you will find all kinds of things to read about, think about, and respond to in English. Sometimes the English that is taught in the classroom (“This is a pen”) isn’t very interesting or useful in the real world. With this blog, you can go beyond “This is a pen,” and practice real-world English. If you have a conversation partner, this blog will be a great tool for you to use together. The articles, links, and questions will help you start some interesting conversations.
Please leave comments. Don’t be shy! You will get to know me, and I hope that I can get to know you, too. Please share your thoughts so that we can have a “conversation” with each other and with other language learners from around the world!
