Anyone can follow someone else’s pattern if they are patient enough. With a Lego Pirate Ship set, anyone can re-create the ship using the instructions provided, and it will look exactly like the photograph on the front of the box. That’s a rewarding feeling, I’m sure.
I can only imagine, because I never followed the instructions on a Lego set. Sometimes I began by following instructions, but then I made little changes. A different color. A different shape. A different size. Eventually, it became a completely different object. Like a flying beetle machine, perhaps.
